Q: How relevant do you find the study of astrology in your every day life?
A: Well I don’t constantly assess the motion of the planets to find the best time to do things, but sometimes, if you are unsure about something, it’s worth looking at what the planets are doing for guidance. More often astrologers look at a situation after the event in order to analyse why.
Mostly I think astrology is helpful in understanding life. It’s the best way I know to learn more about other people and ourselves.
There’s good and bad in every sign, in all of us, none of us is perfect, though we humans have the tendency to assume we are right and everyone else is wrong. This assumption often leads to conflict, both in personal relationships and across the globe in a wider context.
Q: With an understanding of basic astrology, how do I use your book?
A While astrology is a complex area of study, and there is a lot more to each of us than just our sun sign, I hope that it will deepen others understanding, bridge the gap that exists between magazine-style sun sign astrology, and the real thing.
The zodiac as a metaphor for a learning process leading to personal growth is not really an original theory, it’s quite an ancient concept, but I don’t think it’s ever been explored in depth like this.
That each sign can learn something from the sign which follows it, is not really an original theory, but the concept can be applied to any number of situations, for example it maybe helpful in conflict resolution or relationship counselling. But overall I guess people will get out of it what they most need. Mostly I hope that in some way it will help to raise consciousness.
